Dear Friends:

As most of you know, Roosevelt High School continues to excel in academics, athletics and fine arts despite the increasing financial challenges facing public schools.   The Roosevelt High School Foundation, since its establishment in 1984, has become increasingly important to Roosevelt by providing financial support to help maintain academic excellence.

• Provide funding for scholarships to college bound Roosevelt students.
• Provide funds for educational development and growth of current students and faculty.
• Communicate with Roosevelt supporters and alumni through the Rider Recall and the Roosevelt website (http://www.trhsfoundation.org), as well as sponsor activities, such as the Rider Cup golf outing, R Party and reunions, and awards including, the Hall of Fame and Outstanding Contributor awards.

Recent Foundation expenditures for 2006-2007 include $17,000 in grants to Roosevelt students and teachers to enrich educational experiences. College scholarship expenditures include $23,900 to 51 Roosevelt seniors through the Dollars for Scholars program, and the ten named scholarships administered by the Foundation.  In addition, the Roosevelt Foundation endowment will fund three new $1000 college scholarships to recipients of the Cress O. Hoyt, Charlene Lakin and Wanda Everage senior recognition awards.

In 2006-2007, the Foundation will be investing in an upgraded website, and will increase our mailing and electronic databases.  Plans include increasing the Foundation endowment to provide additional college scholarship opportunities, and helping coordinate fund-raising activities for the Roosevelt Renovation Campaign.
