Letter from Board President

Dear TRHS Community:

I couldn’t be more excited about our start to another great year at Roosevelt! The school year seems to be going by so fast, but we’re lucky to have so much to look forward to in the future. I am honored to be starting in my new role as president of the TRHS Foundation, and I am ready to dive in to the work that lies ahead. Before looking toward our bright future, it is important to take pride in our past.

I would first like to thank Kate Krieg, past president, for her commitment to pursuing our Foundation’s mission and her hard work in achieving our goals. I was grateful to learn a lot during her tenure and I hope to continue the Foundation’s tradition of strong leadership. I would also like to give special recognition to outgoing board members Chris Fitzgerald and Abbie Sawyer after each serving consecutive three-year terms. I speak on behalf of the board when I say their presence will be missed. Please join me in welcoming four new members this year: Julianne Hilmes-Bartlett, Kate Mead, Mike Turner, and Abby Zegers.

This year will bring new opportunities to engage with our alumni and grow our Endowment through fundraising. Our first opportunity was the return of the R Party on October 17! We were so excited to bring this event back after several years and we feel that it was a great way to start the year. I will be primarily focused this year on increasing attendance and sponsorships at other fundraising events throughout the year, increasing active membership in our alumni association, growing our donor base, and elevating our relationship with current donors.

We would love to see everyone get involved. A great way to do this would be to share your Rider Spirit on Facebook. In addition, we always welcome and appreciate your financial support. Please visit to purchase an annual alumni membership.

The TRHS Community is the driving force behind the success of our Foundation. It is clear to me that without our school’s ability to develop extraordinary graduates, our board would not be able to continuously recruit and engage extraordinary new members. These new members then play an essential role in the Foundation’s mission to create a remarkable student experience by expanding educational and extracurricular opportunities. This cycle must continue in order to maintain our legacy as THE BEST High School☺.

I look forward to serving as President this year and meeting as many of you as I can. I am certainly optimistic about what our Foundation will accomplish this year, but in order to reach our full potential, we need you!
