The in-school Roosevelt Barbershop is readying to open its doors in spring 2020. The plumbing for the shop has been installed and the logo is on the walls. Two chairs sit awaiting the opening for the shop which will be housed on the second floor of the school.
Through a mentorship program with local barbershop owner Tony Mack (who generously donated the chairs), students will learn to cut and style other students’ hair. There will be no charge to students using the service; at the same time, the young barbers will learn about styling as well as how to run a business.
