2025 Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

We are excited to announce the 2025 Hall of Fame inductees, Dr. Carl Agee (’69) and Jacquie Easley McGhee (’76). Learn more about each of these distinguished alums below and mark your calendars for Roosevelt’s annual awards night on Wednesday, April 23rd where our honorees will give remarks to the Rider Community.


Dr. Carl Agee
Dr. Carl Agee

Dr. Carl Agee is the Director of the Institute of Meteoritics and Professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of New Mexico (UNM), and teaches courses on geology, the solar system, and the planet Mars. Carl’s current research program focuses on meteorites, in particular meteorites from Mars, and more broadly on the origin and evolution of terrestrial planets. He has authored over 400 research articles and has mentored numerous undergraduate and graduate students during his career. From 2015-2023 he was President of the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Consortium for Materials Properties Research in Earth Science (COMPRES) coordinating NSF-funded high-pressure experiments at Department of Energy (DOE) synchrotron facilities at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

 

Before coming to New Mexico, Dr. Agee was the Chief Scientist for Astromaterials in the Office of the Director at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Johnson Space Center (1998-2002). From 1990 to 1998 he was on the faculty of the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University and was a visiting scientist from 1988-1990 at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. He is a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the Meteoritical Society, the Mineralogical Society of America (MSA) and is a F.W. Clarke Medalist of the Geochemical Society. Dr. Agee holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of California, Berkeley (1984), and a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Columbia University (1988).

 

Jacquie Easley McGhee
Jacquie Easley McGhee

Jacquie Easley McGhee is the Division Director of Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Services for MercyOne Iowa. Her areas of responsibility include language access services and health equity initiatives for the organization. Jacquie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and a certification in Human Resource Law from the Society of Human Resources.

 

Jacquie is Vice Chair of the United Way Board of Directors, where she leads the Early Childhood cabinet. She also chairs the Directors Council/One Economy health strategic team and is the Iowa Nebraska NAACP Conference of Branches Health Chair. She has served as Chair of the Greater Des Moines Partnership Diversity Council and Central Iowa Regional Workforce Investment Board, which oversees the planning and programming for workforce development for seven central Iowa counties.

 

Elected in 1990, Jacquie was the first African American female to serve on the Des Moines School Board, the largest school district in Iowa. She served two terms, held the office of President, and was unanimously appointed by the School Board in 2000 to fill a vacancy.
