We are bursting with excitement to unveil a new capital project that will improve our campus for decades to come. Thanks to generous lead gifts from DMPS, the Ruan Family Foundation, and Prairie Meadows, we are embarking upon a renovation of the natatorium. If you’ve ever spent time around our pool, then you know it is long overdue.

IMPROVEMENTS WILL INCLUDE:
HVAC improvements to reduce humidity and overheating while improving air flow and overall comfort for athletes and spectators.
Removal of wood slatted ceiling, replacing with gypsum and decorative ceiling elements depicting the illusion of swimmers through the water.
Replacement of all lighting in pool and spectator areas.
Replacement of pool decking.
Removal of wood slat walls, replacing with impact-resistant gypsum.
Repainting and sealing of the remaining tile walls.
Installation of a new scoreboard and video monitors.
Refinishing wooden spectator bleachers and concrete risers in the spectator area.
Enhancing the space with decorative elements and graphic installations to enhance school spirit.
No gift is too small. Please help in any way you can by visiting this link. Simply put “Giving Tuesday – Pool” in the comments, and we’ll add your gift to our capital campaign.

Want to make an additional splash? There is also a limited number of naming opportunities available on the back wall of the pool deck. The historic arches will remain, and we’ll fill them with action shots of students enjoying the pool. Each arch will be labeled with the names of sponsor families. If you were a swimmer or a Shark, this is a wonderful opportunity to show your lasting support. Each family archway is available for $10,000. Contact Chris Diebel to discuss this opportunity further: chris.diebel@TRHSfoundation.org or 515-612-6599.
We’ll be fundraising through the spring with plans to start construction right after the 2026 Sharks Pageant. The timing couldn’t be better! We’ll ring in the 100th anniversary of this iconic club with a much-needed renovation.
This project comes on the heels of our completed Innovation & Learning Center and the Randy Duncan Track + Field. With the generosity of supporters like you, we have been on a roll the past four years. Let’s keep the momentum going with a completely refreshed pool area!
